21 Bauchi Commissioners, SSG, CoS Loss Job Cos They Can’t Play Politics — Gov
Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, explained that he some sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), his Chief of Staff and 21 commissioners because “they can’t play politics”.
Mohammed sliced his cabinet in an unprecedented manner, dropping a huge number of the members of the state executive.
He explained during the 2021 Democracy Day celebration in Zaki town, Zaki local government headquarters of Bauchi State on Saturday that he sacked them because they “don’t know how to play politics”.
“Those that I stopped, they don’t know how to play politics and I cannot work with those type of people. I just have to get others, real politicians that can do the job together with me and bring out Bauchi from deadlock,” he said.
He also said their sack will give an opportunity to other willing and capable people to serve the state and help in moving it ahead.
The governor, last Wednesday, sacked all his commissioners, according to a statement by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, who said Mohammed approved the immediate dissolution of the “State Executive Council and other political appointees that include the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (COS) Government House and all Special Advisers,” except four named ones.
No reason was given for their sack then, but the governor thanked the dismissed officials for “their meritorious service to the state.”
