ACF Concludes Nigeria Unsafe under Buhari
The Arewa Consultative Forum, on Tuesday said Nigeria as a country was no longer secure and safe under the Buhari regime.
ACF’s Board of Trustees makes this verdict, after rising from its maiden meeting since the inauguration of the new executive in March, saying the Buhari-led government had failed to heed advices on how to tackle the spate of insecurity in the land.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the BoT meeting in Kaduna, the forum’s national publicity secretary, Emmanuel Yawe, said the group was not happy with the security situation in Nigeria, lamenting that the president has continued to play deaf to all the insecurity situations in the country.
He said, “Today’s (Tuesday) meeting is very crucial to the operations of ACF because it is the first meeting of the newly constituted Board of Trustees (BOT).
“We discussed security and we are worried because Nigerians are not very secure. We are not happy about insecurity in the country. We are looking at the immediate ways and long term of getting security improved.”
There have been calls form different quarters for President Buhari to replace the country’s security service chief who many see as under-performing and whose retirement ages have elapsed since.
