ANTHONY JOSHUA VS USYK 2: Tyson Fury says it’s worst heavyweight title fight, reconsiders retirement

ANTHONY JOSHUA VS USYK 2: Tyson Fury says it’s worst heavyweight title fight, reconsiders retirement

Tyson Fury has reacted to Anthony Joshua’s loss to Oleksandr Usyk and confirmed he is no longer retiring from boxing.

Joshua fought well in his rematch with the Ukrainian but it wasn’t enough to regain the WBA, IBF & WBO heavyweight world titles.

Usyk, who put on another absolute clinic, claimed the victory via split decision in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and inflicted Joshua’s third professional defeat.

And undefeated Fury, who had previously claimed he had hung up his gloves following his win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley in April, has now changed his tune after recently relinquishing the Ring magazine belt.

He was, however, highly critical of both fighters and delivered a typical Fury response.

On his Instagram story, Fury said: “Both of them were s****. It was one of the worst heavyweight title fights I’ve ever seen. It was bulls***. It was f***ing s****.

“Get your chequebook out. The Gypsy King is here to stay forever.”

Usyk, who is a unified world champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions, was asked about Fury post-fight and very much welcomed a showdown.

“I’m convinced Tyson Fury is not retired,” Usyk told Sky Sports through his promoter and translator Alexander Krassyuk.

“I want to fight Tyson Fury, if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury then I’m not fighting at all.”

The fight was overshadowed by Joshua’s bizarre behaviour after the scorecards were read out.

With the mask slipping, he threw Usyk’s belts on the floor in disrespect and angrily stormed out of the ring.

However, he soon returned and then went on to deliver a confusing, expletive-heavy speech that many felt took away from Usyk’s moment.
