Armed Robbers Attack Two Banks in Osun, Kill Two
Armed robbers on Thursday attacked and robbed two new generation banks in Iree, Boripe Local Council of Osun State.
Nigerian Sketch was told that the armed robbers raided both banks, located around Poly Junction within the town, around 4:00 p.m. and killed two persons, a student inclusive as they were attempting to escape from the scene of the robbery. Others sustained various degrees of injuries.
Apart from heavy guns which they carried as they stormed the banks, eye witnesses said they heard sounds of explosives which they suspected the robbers used in breaking into safes in the banks.
The operation, which lasted for a little less than 20 minutes, was carried out unhindered, as there was no challenge whatsoever from security operatives in the community.
The police spokesman in the state, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed that the operation occurred, and said that the police is carrying out the necessary investigations.
