Controversy as minister impregnates junior minister
The Minister of Primary Secondary and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mr Tony Mwaba Kazadi was said to have impregnated his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia.
The two were reported to have claimed it was an accident at work.
On April 12, 2021, Aminata was appointed Kazadi’s deputy, and the two have had a love affair going on for quite some time now despite the fact that they’re both married.
The news of the minister ballooning his junior and deputy was revealed by a DRC reporter known as Lungila John on Twitter.
The citizens of DRC lambasted the minister and his deputy, saying they portrayed bad conduct and showed proof of lack of morals in the country.
Archy Lema, a citizen of DRC and a Twitter user said, DRC is a country of shame. She said Aminata has no education to give to any young lady in the country.
Another citizen of DRC said if politicians in the country, especially Tony and Aminata wanted to be referred to as “excellencies” or “honorables”, their conducts should have been more excellent and honorable, especially since they are very popular and wealthy, unlike other Congolese people.
However, our correspondent made a call to a trusted Congolese who is identified as Nugandu, she debunked the news and claimed it’s all part of the political drama of DRC.
Deputy minister Aminata took to her Twitter page to also debunk the news. She said beyond her official and public duties, she has a life that must be respected by all, a right guaranteed to all Congolese by their Constitution.
Aminata said tarnishing her image should not be a tolerated habit because it could harm not only her commitments but also the image of her married male colleagues and their homes.
She said “political detractors can attack my opinions and political actions rather than opting for practices tending to smear my person.
“It should be noted that a certain sensational press has hammered since last Tuesday on the fact that this ministerial authority would have had romantic relations with another personality who would be in conflict with another person who maintains the same type of relationship with the vice-minister
“For a certain opinion, this is a strictly private life that must be respected at the risk of undermining human dignity”, she concluded.
Some citizens still disagreed with her claims of the situation being her private life. They said there is no private life for a public figure and every action she makes will reflect on the country.
