Directors of Sports Forum of Nigeria Elects Maizare Vice Chairman
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in to the Director of Sports, Kano State Sports Commission, Bashari Ahmad Maizare, over his election as the vice chairman of Directors of Sports Forum of Nigeria.
Maizare was elected at the election of the forum that took place on Sunday in Benin city, Edo state.
Nigerian Sketch observed that nomination of candidates at the election was on the basis of geo-political zones, with only one candidate each of Nigeria’s geo-political zones including FCT, Abuja.
South East presented Sir Isaac O. Isaac as their representative for the position of chairman, and Utobo Emmanuel N. for South East Directors of Sports.
North West presented Maizare as their representative for the position of vice chairman of the Forum, and Yakubu Ibrahim, Director of Sports Kaduna for North West Directors of Sports.
South west presented Mr Makinde G.M. of Oyo state as their candidate for the position of secretary-general, and Kolawole Moses Olusegun, Director Sports Development, Lagos State.
North Central presented Mr. Phillip Nongu from Benue State for financial secretary, while South South presented Sir Braveman. E. Wodi from Bayelsa as PRO.
North East presented Mr Sule Musa for the position of treasurer, while FCT, Abuja has the position of assistant secretary general.
Officers elected at the end of the polls are Isaac O. Issac as chairman; Bashari Ahmed Maizare as vice chairman; Gboyega Makinde as secretary-general; Phillip Nongo as financial-secretary; Musa Sule as treasurer; Braveman Wodi as PRO; and Luca Nstafanus as assistant secretary-general.
Inauguration was conducted by the former chairman of the Forum, Mr Tunde Kazzem.
