Ex-EFCC Boss, Ibrahim Lamorde, to Head Police Intelligence Squad

Former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), DIG Ibrahim A. Lamorde, has been redeployed to Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB).

Lamorde, was recently promoted to the rank of deputy inspector-general of police (DIG).

A statement by the police public relations officer, Frank Mba, said inspector-general of police, Mohammed Adamu, has approved the deployment.

The portfolios for four other newly promoted deputy inspectors-general of police have also been announced.

DIG Usman Alkali Baba will now head the Force Criminal Intelligence Department (FCID), while DIG David Oyebanji Folawiyo has been assigned Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

DIG Joseph O. Egbunike will head Department of Finance and Administration while DIG Dan-Mallam Mohammed goes to Department of Training and Development.

AIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh, was redeployed from the Border Patrol Section to Acting DIG in-charge of the Department of Research and Planning.

Lamorde was born on 20 December, 1962 in Mubi, Adamawa State. He attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, graduating with a B.A in Sociology in 1984. He joined the Nigerian police in 1986, and from 1987 to 1988 worked at the Niger State Police Command in Minna. From 1988 to 1989, he was Divisional Crime Officer in Rijau, Niger State. He then served as Police Public Relations Officer for the Niger State police from 1989 to 1993.
