Two Southwest presidential aspirants, Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State and former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, met on Wednesday allegedly to discuss the forthcoming APC governorship primary in Ekiti State and the 2023 presidential poll.

It was Fayemi who visited Tinubu in Lagos two days after Tinubu revealed his intention to contest the presidency.

Reports said they discussed the need to work for the ambition of the Southwest to get the APC presidential ticket.

They were also said to have discussed the forthcoming APC governorship primary in Ekiti State where Fayemi is believed to be supporting the immediate past secretary to the State Government, Biodun Oyebanji, while Tinubu is supporting Senator Opeyemi Bamidele.

The two politicians are said to be desirous of harmonizing their positions in both the Ekiti State governorship primary as well as the 2023 presidential poll.

Already, groups in the Southwest region have been meeting to perfect a way of presenting a single generally accepted candidate for the 2023 presidential election. They plan to strategise towards placating other aspirants to join hands with only one of them in orer to have a common front.
