FCSC Gets Commissioner, as Senate Confirms Wakil Bukar
The Senate in Nigeria has confirmed the appointment of Wakil Bukar as the commissioner, Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) after the adoption of the report of Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service at plenary on Tuesday.
The committee chairman, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau (APC-Kano) said while presenting the report that the nominee possessed the requirements specified under Section 156 of the Constitution, for appointment as a commissioner of FCSC.
He said there was no security report against the appointment of the nominee from the Department of State Service (DSS) and Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
According to him, there is no petition before the committee against the appointment of the nominee as a commissioner.
“He is hereby, affirmed to be fit and proper person for confirmation by the Senate for appointment as Commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission,” Shekarau said, after which the senate confirmed his appointment as FCSC commissioner.
The commission has the vision “to build a core of highly focused, disciplined, committed and patriotic Civil Service totally dedicated to supporting the Government in the development of a strong, united and virile Nigeria.”
Its mission is to pursue “the stated vision to meticulously apply extant rules and regulations in providing excellent, honest, fair and equitable service that shall remain the foundation of the fundamental principles governing human resource management in the Federal Civil Service.”
