Football Observatory reveals current top 10 most valuable forwards

As always, the forwards tend to merit the big transfer fees and the big wages due to their importance to the team.

They are the ones that can more than likely win you a game of football.

Ahead of the summer transfer window, the 10 most valuable forwards in world football have been ranked by Football Observatory CIES.

In tenth place we have a player that has been dubbed the Georgian Messi, Napoli’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has a transfer value of €87.6 million.

Next up in Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez, who has had a difficult start to life in England after scoring just nine goals in the Premier League, according to CIES, the Uruguayan is worth €98.2 million.

Lautaro Martinez and Rafael Leao were in eighth and seventh having been given a value of €100.7 million and €113.2 million respectively.

Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez comes next as he has a value of €122 million, with Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli ahead of him with a value of €152.9 million.

Missing out on a place in the top three is surprisingly Paris Saint Germain star Kylian Mbappe, who has a worth of €163.2 million according to CIES. This is because his contract is due to run out at the end of next season.

Kicking off the top three is Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, the talented winger has been valued at €184.5 million.

In second place is Rodrygo’s Madrid teammate, Vinicius Junior, who misses out on the top spot despite having a huge transfer value of €196.3 million.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland has been ranked the most valuable forward in world football. The Norway superstar has a transfer value of €245.1 million.

Last summer, City paid a reported £51 million to lure Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund.

Since then, he has scored 52 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions for the Etihad club.

With Haaland spearheading their team, City went on to lift the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League in what was a sensational season for Pep Guardiola’s men.
