Ganduje Bans Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara from Preaching in Kano

Ganduje Bans Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara from Preaching in Kano

Kano State government has banned controversial Islamic preacher, Shiekh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara, from preaching in the state henceforth, according to a decision adopted at the state weekly executive council meeting.

The government has also ordered the closure of his mosque, saying the preacher has been making inciting comments that are capable of causing disharmony in the state.

State commissioner of information, Muhammad Garba, announced the decision of the government while speaking with journalists at the state government house on Wednesday shortly after the state executive council meeting.

He announced that the government has requested that the state commissioner of police and other security agencies enforce the ban on the preacher and the closure of his mosque.

He also requested that all radio and television stations in the state should stop the broadcast of his preachings or sermons with immediate effect, saying the measure was necessary to prevent breakdown of law and order in the state.

There have been fears that religious preachers’ unregulated pronouncements play a role in the festering disharmony among Nigerians.
