Gbemisola Saraki receives accolades from Kwarans for recruitment benefits
A number of Kwara indigenes have trooped to social media to commend Nigeria’s Minister of State for the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Sen Gbemisola Ruqayyah Saraki, over what they called her ‘benevolence’ in securing jobs for people from the state.
The minister on Tuesday revealed on her Facebook page that some Kwarans are already on induction while others were out for job interviews.
She wrote: “Today is an important day for me as a mother, as a large number of my family members have travelled to Lagos for either job interviews or induction programme in their new place of work.
“Even though I said we won’t miss you, let me confess, we are missing you all already!! GRA is too quiet now. I am glad that at least some of you stayed up late to share your joy, laughter, and excitement with us. And I am sure you are missing us too, and missing the puff puff and Iya Ibrahim’s Jols rice 🤣🤣
“But on a serious note, to those going for job interviews at the Nigerian Railway Corporation, we wish you all the best of luck. We are praying for you. May your hard work and dedication be recognised and may you be successful in your endeavours.
“To those starting their induction training programme at the Nigerian Ports Authority, congratulations and welcome to the NPA team. Remember that you are representatives of your families, of the GRS Family and of Kwara State. Do us proud. We wish you all the best as you begin this new chapter in your careers.
“I want to remind you all to look out for each other and ensure you retain the close bond that existed amongst you before leaving us here in Ilorin. Remember to always stay close to home and I look forward to seeing all of you in Lagos sooner rather than later.
‘And don’t forget to come back home to vote next month ooo!!! Love and miss you loads 🥰♥️🤗
“And to all those still searching for employment, we pray that opportunities come your way and that you may find success in your job search. May God guide and bless you in your endeavours.

Abu-talib Abdu Na Abdu however wrote that such job opportunities should be made open to all Nigerians, not just those affiliated with politicians. He wrote, “Congratulations to them but try and make recruitment in Nigeria to be open to all rather exclusively to those connected to a certain politician. That’s the only way to make Nigeria great. Best wishes.”
