Gudaji Kazaure’s Alleged Suspension Tears APC Apart in Jigawa State
All is not well with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, as the party at the Kazaure local government level has been engaged in a war against itself.
Some party executives of the Kazaure chapter announced on Friday that they have suspended the member representing Kazaure, Roni, Gwiwa and Yankwashi federal constituency, Honorable Muhammad Gudaji Kazaure from the party for allegedly defaming the state governor governor, Badaru Muhammad Abubakar.
But in its reaction on Sunday, the Kazaure local government chapter dissociated itself from the suspension and condemned it in strong terms.
In a letter dated 31st May 2021, signed by the vice chairman of the party, Bello Jawo Sanda on behalf of all wards chairmen in Kazaure local government area, and copied to the APC national caretaker chairman and the state chairman, the Kazaure local government chapter said the suspension of Hon. Gudaji Kazaure by ‘unscrupulous politicians’ is a distraction to the party as it was unconstitutional and ‘unlawful’.
The statement explained that the suspension was engineered by the APC chairman, legal adviser and two others, saying those four people within the party cannot take such a decision.
“We urge the National Caretaker Chairman and APC stakeholders to completely disregard the suspension of Hon. Muhammad Gudaji Kazaure. Why should he be suspended? What crime did he commit to be suspended? This fine gentleman did nothing wrong,” they said.
Youth in the state have also been engaged in demonstrations, saying the National Assembly member’s suspension is unacceptable to them.

Recall that a letter was released to the public, announcing the suspension of Gudaji Kazaure for what they described as defaming the executive governor of Jigawa state, Badaru Muhammad Abubakar.
Gudaji Kazaure has been critical of what he called the recent anointment of a contestant to chairmanship position of Kazaure local government area in the fourthcoming council election.

When contacted, Gudaji Kazaure dismissed his alleged suspension was nothing but an attempt to tarnish his image by some group of overzealous politicians who want to see his downfall.
Gudaji explained that no amount of intimidation or threat will deter him from contributing his quota for the development of his people, the state and the nation at large.
