Gunmen Kidnap Businessman in Kano Town Same Day Ganduje Raises Alarm to Service Chiefs
Unknown gunmen have abducted a businessman identified as Emmanuel Eze on Thursday, the state police command has confirmed.
The gunmen carried out the act in Kore town in Dambatta local government area of the state when they invaded the town and whisked away the businessman.
Spokesman of Kano police command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said the state commissioner of police, Sama’illa Shua’ibu Dikko, had already dispatched a team of police operatives to rescue the businessman.
Neighbours said Mr Eze has been running his business in the town for over a decade and is known to almost everyone in the town.
Recall that Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje told security chiefs on the same day Eze was abducted that armed bandits have infiltrated Kano forest, and may be planning to carry out dastardly acts.
He told the service chiefs on Thursday that: “I’m also here to seek the help of the Nigerian Army to sustain the peace in Kano State. Bandits have converted some forests in the state into hideouts. The bandits are grouping in Falgore Forest and may be planning to attack our people.
