Attacks on the police have become prevalent in the southeastern part of Nigeria in recent time, and authorities in Nigeria have been unable to unravel the people behind such acts.

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), which readily comes to mind whenever such attacks are carried out, have continued to deny involvement.
