Jigawa Governor Urges Citizens to Monitor Government Projects

Jigawa State governor, Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, has urged all citizens of the state to consider themselves as partners in the progress of the state, asking them to form themselves into project monitoring groups and advice his government on areas that need his attention.

His special adviser on media and public relations, Habibu Nuhu Kila, said in a press release on Friday that the governor is always ready to be responsive to the yearning and aspirations of the people of the state, and will always execute all projects wit utmost accountability.

Kila was responding to a recent write-up by Adamu Muhammad Usman, the former media adviser to former governor of Jigawa State Alhaji  Sule Lamido, who made a strong point for the repairs of Marke-Yalo-Gujungu and Jabo-Hago-Hadejia roads respectively. He also argued strongly for the completion of the Wudil-Gaya-Jahun-Kafin-Hausa-Bauchi federal road which he said has taken too long to complete, while asking for the Kafin-Hausa-Auyo road to be done.

Kila called Adamu’s write-up a “masterpiece in exemplary functional criticism,” saying the governor will always heed to such advice in the interest of the state.

Kila wrote: “The governor has taken note of all these observations and advice, and pledged that any project that will advance the course of the state would be given prioritised consideration.

“Already, as pointed out by the former media adviser, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar gives utmost regard to the construction of good roads to enhance communication within the state, between states and with neighboring counties.

“This has informed the construction of 1, 600 kilometer roads in the last six years. This is one of the longest, if not the longest in Nigeria today.

Governor Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar’s preoccupation has always been to move Jigawa State ahead and ensure that its development is rapid and sustained.”
