Jose Mourinho accepts new job after Roma exit

Jose Mourinho accepts new job after Roma exit

Jose Mourinho will be on the TNT panel for this weekend’s coverage of the Champions League final at Wembley in an unexpected decision.

Following his dismissal from Serie A side AS Roma in January, Mourinho has been without a club.

Mourinho has been linked to the Saudi Pro League, and even with a potential returns Old Trafford, although these seem like unlikely outcomes at present.

Reports have even suggested the 61-year-old has been in talks with a move to European giants Fenerbahce.

While it is still very much unknown what Mourinho will be doing in the long term, the Portuguese has his immediate future already lined up with a shock guest appearance on TNT.

Mourinho has appeared as a pundit previously in the UK for Sky Sports, but this will be his first time featuring on TNT, which previously went under the name BT Sport.

TNT released a statement to confirm the news on Thursday.

“Jose Mourinho will join a star-studded team for TNT Sports’ coverage of the UEFA Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid at Wembley Stadium on Saturday,” they wrote.

“The two-time UCL winning manager will be on hand to provide expert analysis, alongside TNT Sports pundits Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman. The broadcast, presented by Laura Woods with Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist on commentary duty, kicks off at 18:00 UK time.”

Unfortunately, we aren’t going to be seeing anything like the awkward studio we saw when Mourinho shared the panel with his old nemesis Arsene Wenger on beIN Sport in 2019. However, to have one of the greatest footballing minds break down the biggest game of the season will be something fans don’t want to miss.
