Kano APC reverses Ganduje’s suspension

Kano APC reverses Ganduje’s suspension

The State Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kano has announced the suspension of some ward party leaders who earlier announced the suspension of the national chairman of the Party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The leadership of the party at Ganduje ward in Dawkin Tofa local government area has earlier announced the suspension of the party’s national chairman, saying the corruption charges filed against him must be settled.

But APC chairman in Dawakin Tofa local government, Inusa Suleiman Dawanau, told newsmen that those behind the act were caught in anti-party activities, with records of their meetings with the ruling opposition exposed.

Internal party politics

The conflicting suspensions highlight internal party politics and power struggles within the APC in Kano State. The initial suspension by the Ganduje ward executives was met with retaliation from higher-ranking party officials who deemed it invalid and imposed their own sanctions on those involved in suspending Ganduje.

The legal battles and political maneuvers surrounding Ganduje’s suspension reflect broader issues of corruption allegations and power dynamics within Nigerian political parties.
