KANO: NNPP leads with 101, 997 votes after collation of 43 LGs

After the collation of election results in 43 out of the 44 local government areas of Kano State in the state governorshp election, the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) is leading its main rival, All Progressives Congress (APC) with 101, 997 votes.

Official figures shows that NNPP garnered 963, 822  votes while the ruling APC) got 861, 825 so far.

Earlier results were a ding-dong affair between the two heavyweight parties, as they overtake one another with minimal margins.

However, later tallies shot the NNPP far ahead of its major rival, giving its supporters a feeling of victory.

But, a more careful peek at the results should give both parties some cause for worry, as the number of cancelled votes rises beyond expectation.

Nigerian Sketch has so far been able to tally about 11, 474 cancelled votes from just two local government areas as of the time this story was published, and if such cancellations continue at this rate, pundits say it could be the deciding factor at the end of the day.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of thugs blocking some areas of the state, waiting to wreck havoc if final election result did not favour their party. State Road, along Government House, is one area citizens have been warned not to ply for fear of attacks.
