Kano Pillars supporters accost Coach Evans Ogenyi to demand credible recruitment
Kano Pillars football club supporters have warned the newly employed manager, Evans Ogenyi, not to recruit weak players for the club.
They said he will incur their wrath if his recruitment policies were not satisfactory to them.
Pyramid Sports News reported that the supporters in their numbers last Monday accosted the coach at the end of the day’s training session, when on his way out of Sani Abacha Stadium, where they made their position known to him.
The concerned supporters encircled the coach requesting for reassurances that the best legs will be recruited to prosecute the task ahead, the report said.
“They told the coach in plain language that some of the players he invited do not possess the capacity to deliver what is required at this stage.
“They cautioned the coach that they will not tolerate any excuse, if he fails to do the right thing, since he has all the support needed from the people of Kano, they advised him to do the needful or be ready to face their wrath,” the report quoted a source.
Another source was quoted to have said the coach reassured the supporters that the technical crew under his guide will not sacrifice merit, adding that the best will be engaged since he is fully aware of the huge task ahead.
Recall that Kano Pillars only recently secured the services of Coach Ogenyi after the club’s management was entrusted to Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima by the state government.
Galadima was believed to be capable of turning the fortune of the club in the coming season, although some fans think he was too rigid.
