KUST Gets NUC Approval to Begin Part-Time Degree Programmes

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval to Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil to run part-time undergraduate degree programmes.

A statement signed by the university’s deputy registrar and deputy head of information and public relations unit, Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, on Sunday said the approval was contained in a letter addressed to the vice chancellor, dated 26th October, 2020 and signed by director, academic planning of the NUC, Dr. N.B. Saliu.

The lette, according to Abdullahi, stated that the executive secretary of the NUC, Professor Abubakar Rasheed has considered and approved the establishment of part-time undergraduate degree programmes effective from the 2020/2021 academic session.

The approved programmes, Abdullahi said, are: B. Agriculture (Hons.), B. Sc. (Ed.) Agric., B. Sc. (Hons.) Geography, B. Sc. (Ed.) Geography, B. Sc. (Ed.) Mathematics, B. Sc. (Ed.) Physics, B. Sc. (Ed.) Chemistry and B. Sc. (Ed.) Biology.

Abdullahi added that comsequent upon this NUC approval, the university’s director, institute for continuing and innovative education (ICIE), Prof. Abubakar Musa has announced the commencement of sale of application forms for the 6-year programme.

He revealed that the programmes shall be run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays on the Wudil main campus and its other campuses at Sports Institute, Karfi and Kano State Institute for Information Technology, Kura.
