Law Firm Plans Conciliation Plenary on Violent #EndSARS Protest in Kano
Kano-based Prestige Solicitors and Associates has said it is organizing what it called ‘clinical conciliation plenary session’ to resolve the issues leading to the #EndSARS protests and the attendant violence in Kano State on Tuesday.
The principal partner at the law firm, Ma’ruf Muhammad Yakasai told Nigerian Sketch on Thursday he intends to use his experience in such issues to bring an end to the crisis that has lingered for about two weeks in the country.
Yakasai said his firm’s Law Clinic will be used to achieve this purpose, adding that all parties involved will be invited to bring their grievances to the table in order to find a common ground.
The session, he said, was scheduled to take place coming Wednesday
He said he is particular about the Kano protests that turned violent on Tuesday at the moment, adding that his success in Kano will determine what he would do in other parts of Nigeria.
The legal practitioner explained that the protests in Kano began on a peaceful note but was derailed at a point, turning violent and causing grave loss to citizens in the state.
According to him, he is not new to such engagements, as he was involved in solving similar issues in Mexico relating to Natural disasters in 2017 and “based on my proposal, a plenary session was held on natural disasters.”
