Dantiye said the governor declared the “Public Holiday in commemoration of the birth of the noble prophet of Allah, Muhammad Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.”
He said “the Governor urged the people of the state to use occassion to reflect on the teachings of our noble Prophet and imbibe them in their daily affairs.

“He prayed to Allah to see us through this tough period and bless us with bumper havest in this rainy season and the coming dry farming season.”
The federal government of Nigeria and other state governments, especially in the Muslim-dominated geo-political zones have declared public holidays to celebrate Prophet Muhammad’s birthday (Maulud), even though there is a raging disagreement among Islamic scholars on the propriety of such a celebration in Islam.
