Mo Salah meets PSG president in Morocco

Mo Salah meets PSG president in Morocco

Mohamed Salah has reportedly met with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in Morocco, according to Sports Zone (via Get French Football News)

Ther have been speculations over Salah’s future in Liverpool.

Salah, 31, has been linked with a move to Parc des Princes as a potential replacement for one of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe or Neymar.

Messi has already confirmed he will join MLS side Inter Miami on a free transfer this summer.

Kylian Mbappe has informed PSG he won’t sign a contract renewal to 2025, increasing the chances of him being sold this summer.

Also, PSG are reportedly prepared to allow Neymar to leave should they receive a suitable offer for the Brazilian.

Sports Zone has now reported that Salah recently met with PSG president Al-Khelaifi in Morocco.

It comes after the pair was spotted together in London earlier this year.

The report claims that Al-Khelaifi has sounded out Salah to gauge his interest in a potential move to Paris.

It is claimed that the pair have been in constant contact since the World Cup in Qatar this winter.

Al-Khelaifi is said to have suggested in the latest meeting that Salah could replace Messi at the Parc des Princes.

Salah was ‘happy to entertain Al Khelaifi’s approach’ without ‘necessarily agreeing with the PSG president’, according to the report.

Salah only signed a new three-year deal with Liverpool last summer to keep him at Anfield until 2025.

But he could be tempted into a move to PSG, who are able to offer him Champions League football next season unlike Liverpool.

Robbie Fowler predicts Salah’s  move to PSG

Writing in his column for The Mirror, Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler said PSG were ‘nailed on’ to make a move for Salah following Messi’s departure.

“[Robert] Lewandowski looks like he’ll finish his career at Barcelona, while no way can I see [Erling] Haaland or [Kylian] Mbappe being available this summer, or any time soon.

“Which leaves [Harry] Kane and Salah…and Neymar, if anyone is daft enough to take a punt on a player who looks like he’s had enough of football. Four of the biggest clubs in the world who want one thing – the guarantee of goals.

“And two strikers in English football who have delivered them magnificently over the past seven years. There’s going to be a helluva scrap.

“I only mention Salah because I’ve thought for a few months now that he could be targeted this summer, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if both Madrid and PSG come in for him – with the French club nailed on in my opinion to try and get him.

“I don’t think Liverpool fans should be too worried, because he’s got a long contract and the club has proved in the past few years they won’t be forced into selling unless its on their own terms.

“In saying that, that his statement at the end of the season declaring how devastated he was they didn’t finish in the top four, and there’s no excuse for it was a worry.

“To me, that didn’t sound like Mo, but his agent. And we know how HE operates. PSG have to bring in a big, big name to replace Messi this summer, and probably Neymar too. So they’ll be swinging big – and they could have a real go at Kane too.”
