Mother of Kano APC senatorial candidate, A. A. Zaura, kidnapped
Kidnappers early Monday abducted the mother of All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Abdulkarim Abdulsalam Zaura (A. A. Â Zaura) in Kano State.
Zaura, who is the Kano Central Senatorial candidate, dropped his gubernatorial ambition when Governor Abdullahi Ganduje fingered his deputy as his preferred candidate for the seat of the state governor.
The aged mother of the politician, Hajia Laure Mai Kunu, was abducted in the early hours of Monday.
Chairman of Ungogo local government, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat, confirmed that the incidence happened, saying security agents informed him officially.
He said Hajia Laure was kidnapped at her residence in Rangaza ward of Zaura village of the local government.
Kano Police Command spokesman, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, also told the press that Operation Puff Adder team of the Police has been deployed to the area for possible rescue of the aged woman and arrest of the suspected criminals.
Who is A. A. Zaura?
Zaura was born in Dakata, Kano State, Nigeria. His parents originated from the town of Zaura Babba, Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State and he attended his primary and junior secondary school respectively in Zaura Babba.
He also studied at the Government Technical College, Bagauda, Kano and graduated in 1994, before proceeding to the Kano State Polytechnic to study Mechanical Engineering.
It was while still in school that A. A Zaura developed interests in commodity and solid mineral business.
