Nigerian Navy Brings Desert Warfare Institute to Kano
Following Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s request to the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Rear Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, to secure Kano forests from the incursion of bandits, the Nigerian Navy has agreed to establish its Desert Warfare Institute in the state.
This was disclosed by Real Admiral COR Ezekobe, Chief of Policy and Plans, Nigerian Navy, when he led a delegation to Governor Ganduje at his office in Kano on Wednesday to brief the governor about development so far.
Ganduje said he appreciated the gesture, and that the state is “so happy to have you here. I can see that the return match is so quick. This shows the level of seriousness from your part.
“Your presence in Kano will definitely boost the morale of our youth in joining the Nigerian Navy. It will also improve our security of the state generally.
“We are very much ready for all the requests you came with pertaining this and other projects for the development of the state.”
Ganduje had told the Navy chief during a visit earlier in the month that “I plead with the Nigerian Army to quickly conclude work on the training depot at the Falgore Forest so that they can take over the forest.”
