Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, 10 Others Die in Plane Crash
Nigeria’s chief of army staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, has died in an air crash while on an official trip to Zaria, Kaduna State, a credible military source revealed to Nigerian Sketch.
Also dead in the plane crash, which occurred on Friday, were Maj. Gen. Abdulkadir, Maj. Gen Kuliya, Maj Gan Olayinka Maj. La Hayat, Maj Hamza and Sgt. Umar.
There is still confusion regarding the involvement of the CoAS’s wife, Mrs Fati Attahiru, in the crash.

The Nigerian Army is yet to make any official statement on Attahiru’s death, but Nigerian Air Force confirmed one of its aircraft crashed on Friday near Kaduna International Airport.
The social media in Nigeria has become agitated over trhe news, which even the government’s official television, the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and other official media could not confirm. NTA, for example, could not refer to any credible source, but quoted social media speculations initially.
