Notorious Kidnapper Boboski Dies Hours after Arrest in Rivers

There are insinuations that notorious suspected kidnapper in Rivers state, Honest Digbara, aka Boboski, died on Saturday in police custody, few hours after he was arrested and paraded by the police command in the state.

The Rivers state command of the Nigeria Police has not responded to inquiries from Nigerian Sketch about the death of the notorious kidnapper Boboski who was said to have died hours after he was arrested as a result of injuries he sustained during the raid on his hideout.

Repots have it that the police in the state got vital and accurate information about the kidnapper’s hideout from a vigilante group in Tai local government area of the state.

The police therefore collaborated with the vigilante group to carry out a joint raid of the suspected criminals’ hideout, where the kidnapper was nabbed after his group was subdued by the security operatives.

Rivers commissioner of police, Joseph Mukan, said the notorious kidnapper Boboski was arrested alive, even though his driver was killed during a shootout with the police.

The police authority in the state said the notorious kidnapper Boboski was has been kidnapping and killing citizens of the state recklessly, and Governor Nyesom Wike had to place a N30 million bounty on him in 2019.

“He was arrested through credible information by our partners who are always working with us with credible information. So, at about 2am, the police, in a swift operation sting, stormed his hideout. On sighting the police, they started firing at the police. Unfortunately for them, his driver was gunned down and he was arrested alive,” said the commissioner.

“We have been on his trail, with the partnership of local vigilante, and fortunately, today, God delivered him to our hands. We want to assure the people of Rivers state that we will not relent. The fight against criminality is number one in policing this state, and they should rest assured that normalcy will soon return to this state.”
