Police Invite Kano Anti-Graft Chief, as State Assembly Recommends Arrest
Kano State Police Command has invited the embattled chairman of the state Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado over two petitions against him.
Nigerian Sketch scooped that one of the petitions came from the state assembly over issues bothering on forgery and another from the accountant-general of the state.
Source close to Muhuyi said he received a phone call from the police on Saturday in which he was asked to report to the state command on Monday.
The source said the suspended chairman presented himself at the state police headquarters.
Kano State House of Assembly on Monday gave recommendation to state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to sack Muhuyi after he failed to appear before its ad-hoc committee put in place to investigate allegations against him.
The House also gave further recommendations for “the accountant employed by the suspended chairman that is on grade level 4 to be dealt with in accordance with civil service rule,” said the House majority leader.
Another recommendation was for the “the rejected accountant posted to the commission by the state accountant-general should resume work at the commission,” the majority leaders added.
