Police Releases Kano Anti-Graft Agency Boss, Muhuyi Magaji, After Long Grilling
The Kano Command of the Nigeria Police Force has released the chairman of the state Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, Nigerian Sketch can authoritatively confirm.
A trusted source told Nigeria Sketch that Muhuyi was released late in the evening after about 10 hours grilling.
A top police officer said the investigation of Muhuyi took so long because “the police wanted to get all the details concerning the allegations contained in the petition against him. We have to be thorough and give him all the time he needed to respond.”
The officer said the petition emanated from Kano State House of Assembly, with a request to investigate it and possibly prosecute the suspended chairman.
He also confirmed that the petition was about an alleged forgery of medical documents,
He added that “the police cannot be part of any scheme to persecute anyone. Not at all. We are just trying to get to the roots of the matter, and after interrogation we released him on bail. We shall continue to do our job, and we shall try to do justice to all. That is the job of the police.”
