SDP national vice chairman dumps party, joins APC in Jigawa

The national vice chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Mohammed Alkali (Sardaunan Gumel), has dumped the party to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Alkali, who was hitherto the senatorial candidate of SDP for Jigawa North West, has also jettisoned his senatorial aspiration, opting to move with the ruling party in the state.

As per the the special adviser on media and public relations to the state governor, Habibu Nuhu Kila in a press release Tuesday afternoon, Senator Alkali’s said his “decision was informed by the quality of good leadership of the APC and also good governance and prudence as well as the style of leadership of the Jigawa State Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar.”

Kila said Alkali promised that he will contribute towards the success of APC in the forthcoming general election.

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, who received Senator Alkali at the Government House, Dutse expressed his gratitude and described the occasion as a monumental political development the to the party and the state, assuring Alkali of inclusiveness in all the affairs of the APC as a bonafide member.
