Security chiefs meet with dethroned Emir Aminu Bayero

Following the uncertainty surrounding the Kano emirship saga since the early hours of Saturday, top security operatives in the state have met with Aminu Ado Bayero.

The meeting took place at the temporary mini-palace from where the deposed emir has been operating since he came back to Kano early Saturday.

Governor Yusuf had ordered Ado Bayero’s arrest but the police said they would obey the order against Sanusi’s reinstatement.

The governor was said to have disobeyed the court order which restrained him from returning Sanusi, as he went ahead to claim that the order could not be obeyed.

His media aide, Sanusi Bature was on television justifying what observers said was blatant disobedience to the court

Report say Bayero seemed to be getting the most recognition from authorities as he is reportedly in a special meeting with all top Kano security chiefs.”

Details of the meeting have remained unknown as of the time this report was filed, but citizens fear that there could be an attempt to give effect to the disobeyed court order which demanded the maintenance of status quo before Sanusi was returned on Friday.

“And that means that Emir Aminu Ado remains the recognized Emir of Kano till date. The reinstatement of Emir Sanusi would be seen as an illegality perpetrated by Governor Yusuf’s government,” says a Kano-based lawyer who doesn’t want to be named.
