Suspected Terrorists Attack Adamawa Community, Kill 24

Gunmen thought to be Boko Haram terrorists have killed about 24 villagers when they attacked Dabna community, Hong local government area of Adamawa State in the early hours of Wednesday.

Reports said they also wounded some more and sent a huge number out of the area.

The District Head of Dabna, Simon Yakub, confirmed that 24 dead bodies had been recovered and that one person was seriously injured, adding that the terrorists burnt all the churches in the village.

Eye witnesses said the terrorist were heavily armed and that they came shooting sporadically at everyone, explaining that when the military came, the discovered almost twenty dead bodies in a bush close to Garka, the hometown of the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha.

Spokesman to the 23 Armoured Brigade, Major Sani Mohammed, confirmed the incidence to newsmen and promised to give more details later.

The military in Nigeria have, of recent, recorded significant success in interceding terrorist and bandit attacks in a way that they have failed to do for a long time.

But observers have said they are far less proactive than they are expected to be.
