The meeting, it was gathered is for Iftar, a meal taken after sunset to break the Ramadan fasting.

The invitees were however instructed not to come along with their mobile devices, except their invitation cards which would serve as their entry pass.

Nigerian Sketch was informed by an Aso Rick source that the First Lady has been warry of what her media handers called ‘distortion’ and only wanted information about the meeting to be disseminated through her formal publicity apparatus.

He said she does not want the meeting to be “manipulated for anyone’s personal political gain.”

The source also said “since the meeting is expected to be informal, she does not want the interactions that will take place to become subject of political discourse at a time when elections are fast approaching.

“Take note that the First Lady is meeting all aspirants across party lines. So, there is tendency for some of them to want to make some political gains from the meeting, and she does not want that. She is just being careful, nothing more.”
