How monkeys rescued 6-yr-old girl from rapist
A six-year-old girl was reportedly saved from an attempted sexual assault by a troop of monkeys in a remarkable incident that took place in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, India on Saturday.
The girl was playing outside her home when an unidentified man lured her into an abandoned building. This situation escalated when the man attempted to remove her clothing and sexually assault her.
As the man began his assault, a group of monkeys intervened aggressively. Their sudden appearance and behavior startled the assailant, causing him to flee the scene. The girl’s father later recounted that without this unexpected intervention from the monkeys, his daughter could have faced dire consequences. He emphasized that she would likely have been killed if not for their timely action.
Following the incident, the girl managed to escape and returned home unharmed. She informed her family about what had transpired, specifically mentioning how the monkeys had “saved” her. The parents promptly reported the incident to local authorities, leading to an investigation being launched by police.

The police registered a First Information Report (FIR) under various sections of Indian law aimed at protecting women and children from sexual offenses. These included sections related to assault with intent to outrage modesty and disrobing. Additionally, charges were filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Despite surveillance footage capturing the suspect leading the child away, he has yet to be identified or apprehended by law enforcement officials.
This incident highlights not only a terrifying event but also an extraordinary occurrence where animals played a crucial role in preventing harm to a vulnerable child. The involvement of monkeys in this situation underscores their unpredictable nature and potential impact on human safety in certain contexts.
According to the victim’s father, “The man could be seen in nearby CCTV footage, walking on a narrow lane with my daughter. He is yet to be identified.
“He also threatened my child that he would kill me. My daughter would have been dead by now if the monkeys had not intervened,” the girl’s father said.
