Kano gov appoints Muzakkari ICT agency boss, names new aides
Kano State governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed his erstwhile adviser on digital and creative economy, Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, as the – Director General, Kano State Information & Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA).
This was announced on Friday alongside 18 other new appointments of additional Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
The governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, said the new appointments would “further strengthen governance and enhance service delivery”.
The statement said Kabiru Saidu Dakata was appointed Director General, Kano State Advert & Signage Agency (KASA); Dr. Fatima Abdul Abubakar (Amneef), Director General, Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA); Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa, Deputy Managing Director, Kano State Housing Corporation; Hamisu Musa Gambo Danzaki, Executive Secretary, Kano State Scholarship Board; Barr. Isma’il Nasarawa, Provost, Anti-Corruption Institute; and Captain Mohd Bello Maigaskiya Gabasawa (Rtd.), Commandant, Corporate Security Institute.

The state government expressed “optimism that the new appointees will use their expertise and dedication to contribute positively towards the administration’s vision for a more responsive and people-centered governance.”
Daily Trust, a Nigerian mainstream newspaper, observed that Governor Yusuf, who is about two years in office, now has a total of around 300 aides, including special advisers, senior special assistants, and special reporters.
