Kwara University best student attributes success to Arabic background, family legacy
Mujab Olayinka Daud, the best graduating student of the 2023/2024 session at Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete has publicly credited his background in Arabic studies as a significant factor in his academic success.
The computer science graduated with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.96 out of 4.00 and was honored as the valedictorian during the university’s 12th convocation ceremony.
Daud’s journey began with a strong foundation in Arabic education, which he pursued at Markaz Islamic and Arabic School in Lagos for eight years.

THE 2024 best graduating student emphasized that this experience instilled discipline and provided him with guidance on ethical conduct and interpersonal relations. This educational background helped him navigate various challenges throughout his academic career, allowing him to maintain focus and determination despite temptations.
During his speech at the convocation, the best graduating student expressed deep gratitude towards Allah and acknowledged the support of his family, particularly highlighting that some peers may have worked harder than he did but attributed his recognition to divine grace. His family’s legacy also played a role; he mentioned that his brother is an alumnus of KWASU who graduated with first-class honors, motivating him to strive for excellence.
In addition to his academic achievements, the 2024 best graduating student won seven prizes during the ceremony, showcasing not only his intellectual capabilities but also his commitment to personal growth and community involvement. He advised fellow students to prioritize their faith, work diligently, and remain focused on their goals.
KWASUs 2024 best graduating student said his aspirations extend beyond graduation; he dreams of becoming a globally recognized software engineer. He believes that every successful individual starts from humble beginnings and emphasizes the importance of prayer and perseverance in achieving one’s dreams.
