Rainstorms destroy 100 houses in Plateau, render residents homeless
Rainstorms on Thursday destroyed over 100 houses in Jos North and Jos South local government areas of Plateau State.
Residents reported that the rainstorm, which began around 1a.m, lasted for about three hours and was accompanied by strong winds that blew off the rooftops of several houses, leaving many families homeless.
Several communities, including Jenta Adamu, Kabong, Angwan Rogo and Zololo junction, were significantly affected by the storm.

Emmanuel Ajang, one of the affected residents, described the incident as devastating and unfortunate, noting that his family has been left homeless and helpless.
Ibrahim Musa, another resident from Bauchi Road, said the storm had removed the gate of his house. He explained that they had experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday.
The rainstorms caused significant damage to properties and left many families homeless across these areas. While no fatalities were reported, several individuals sustained injuries. The affected residents have been left in dire situations with urgent needs for shelter and support.
Efforts are being made by local authorities and community groups to provide assistance to those impacted by the rainstorm. Calls have been made for intervention from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the state government to help those who have lost their homes and belongings.
