See how UK tax deduction will gulp much of Tyson Fury’s earnings from Oleksandr Usyk rematch
In their recent rematch held in Saudi Arabia, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury earned substantial fight purses.
The total purse for this high-profile bout was approximately £150 million, with Usyk receiving a 60% share due to his victory in their previous encounter.
According to reports, Oleksandr Usyk made £83.3 million, while Tyson Fury earned £67.3 million.
As the defending champion, Usyk’s earnings reflect not only his performance but also the growing popularity and financial stakes of heavyweight boxing. His earnings from this fight significantly increased compared to their first meeting, where he earned around £35 million.

Despite being a well-known figure in boxing and having a larger share in their first fight (70%), Fury’s earnings from this rematch were lower than expected due to the split favoring Usyk after his win. Fury’s total earnings from this bout were reported at £67.3 million, which is still a considerable amount but less than what he had previously received.
Pay-Per-View revenue
Both fighters are also set to benefit from additional income through pay-per-view sales, as the rematch was broadcasted on platforms like DAZN PPV, Sky Sports Box Office, and TNT Sports Box Office.
It is important to note that Fury will face significant tax deductions upon returning to the UK, estimated at around £28 million, which will reduce his net earnings considerably.
Usyk outpointed Fury by unanimous decision to defend his WBA (super), WBC and WBO world heavyweight titles in Riyadh.
All three judges scored it 116-112 to the undefeated Ukrainian, who registered a stunning achievement during the fight, per the punch stats.
The decision angered Fury, who hit out at the scoring of the world championship clash as he also slammed the AI scorecard.
“The judges gave him a Christmas gift. I feel like I won both fights,” he said during his post-fight press conference.
“I know I had to knock him out but it’s boxing and this happens. There is no doubt in my mind I won this fight.
