Dangote mixer truck in fatal accident, crushes Lagos woman to death
A Dangote mixer truck with registration No. KANO MDB 531 XA crushed a woman to death as a result of brake failure around Abule-Egba inward Mobil Filling Station beside Jubilee Bridge in Lagos.
The Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, in a statement confirmed that the trapped (female) dead body was evacuated underneath the Dangote truck by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and immediately handed over to Police men from Oko-Oba Police Station.
According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that the Dangote mixer truck while on a high-speed lost control as a result of a brake failure and while trying to swerved into a drainage channel crushed an innocent woman to death”

“While the truck driver was immediately apprehended by LASTMA Officials, Police men from Oko-Oba Police Station provided security backup while the rescue operations lasted for hours” Adebayo said.
Lastma Abdul Salam Nurudeen (Alpha, Zone 19 Abule-Egba/Tollgate) who led the recovery operations confirmed that his team were supported by other road sympathizers to remove the trapped dead body.
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, however warned truck owners/drivers to always ensure their trucks are properly checked including the braking system before embarking on any journey within or outside Lagos.

Tragic accidents
The Dangote Transport Company has been involved in multiple tragic accidents recently, resulting in fatalities and injuries.
In one incident, two Dangote trailers crashed in Plateau State, leading to the death of four individuals and injuring nine others. The accident occurred in Zakaliyo community, Jos North Local Government Area. Eyewitnesses reported that the trailers were carrying salt and flour, and a total of five vehicles were involved in the crash. This was the second accident involving trucks in the same area within a week.
In another incident, a Dangote Howo truck collided with an 18-seater Toyota bus belonging to the Gombe State Transport Company at Gazok village, Farin-Lamba, Vwang District on Jos South Local Government Area. The Nigeria Police absolved the Dangote Transport Company of any fault in this accident.

These incidents highlight the importance of road safety measures and regular maintenance checks for vehicles, especially large trucks involved in transporting goods.
