Nigerian government commissions water treatment plants in Kano, Jigawa

The Nigerian government, through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation, has commissioned a water bottling and treatment facility at the headquarters of Hadejia-Jamare River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA) in Kano State.

The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, also commissioned 100,000 litres overhead steel water tanks serviced by 3 boreholes and powered by hybrid solar inverters inaugurated at Masamawa in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Commissioning the projects, the minister said the commissioned projects executed by Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority in Kano and Jigawa States is part of efforts to enhance access to safe water and promote sustainable development in Nigeria, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The commissioning of water treatment plants in Kano and Jigawa states by the Federal Government would have significant impacts on various aspects of the communities in these states.
