PATERNITY SHOCK: How I discovered two of my kids aren’t mine — Veteran actor, Taofeek Salami

Veteran Yoruba actor, Taofeek Salami, popularly known as Tioruju Mondusi, has opened up about a devastating marital betrayal, describing the discovery that two of his five children were not biologically his as the most painful experience of his life.

Speaking during a recent appearance on the African A-List podcast, the emotional actor recounted how his late wife made the shocking confession in an open courtroom during a legal battle stemming from her extramarital affair.

A Sudden disappearance and secret introduction

According to Salami, the cracks in the marriage became visible about five years ago when he returned from a movie location to an empty home. At the time, his wife was nine months pregnant with what he believed was their fifth child.

“I couldn’t reach her on the phone to know her whereabouts until two days later,” Salami shared. “Even after getting in touch with her, she refused to tell me where she was.”

The actor’s search eventually led him to his mother-in-law’s residence, where he stumbled upon a heartbreaking truth.

“It was when I visited her mother’s house to complain that I realized she had already done an introduction ceremony with another man—a married man who already had four children,” he explained. “After seeing the photo frame of the ceremony, I called her to confront her. That was when she returned to the house to insult me, asking who told me that I was even the father of the pregnancy she was carrying.”

The courtroom confession

The drama escalated after the woman gave birth. Despite publicly claiming Salami was not the father of the newborn, she insisted on hosting the naming ceremony at his residence.

“That was when I got angry and ordered her arrest, alongside the man and a friend who had come to beg me,” the veteran actor revealed. “Following my refusal to allow the naming ceremony to take place in my compound, she dragged me to court seeking the dissolution of our marriage.”

It was during the court proceedings that the ultimate bombshell was dropped.

“It was in the court that she confessed that both the third and the fifth (last) child were not mine. She had been secretly seeing the man for many years,” Salami said.

Reflecting on the aftermath of the betrayal, Salami disclosed that his estranged wife passed away last year after facing severe depression.

According to the actor, the Ijebu-Ogun State native she left him for eventually abandoned her to return to his original family, leaving her to deal with the fallout alone.

“She’s late now; may God forgive her,” Salami concluded.
