EKSU Theatre Arts students set to stage Isiaka Aliagan’s ‘Olubu’
Final-year students of the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, Ekiti State University (EKSU), are set to thrill the university community and theatre enthusiasts with a live stage performance of Olubu, a play written by Isiaka Aliagan.
The production, presented by Group 4 of the department, is part of the requirements for the TMA 402 Special Workshop for the ongoing 2025/2026 academic session.
Scheduled to hold on July 24, the performance will take place at the Adetutu TMA Building within the university campus.

According to the production handlers, Olubu is a deeply moving narrative that explores the raw realities of human existence, summarized as “a story of birth, rejection, humiliation, and a search for identity.” Through compelling dramatic expressions, the play promises to confront contemporary social challenges, capturing “the struggle for acceptance and the cost of prejudice.”
The high-profile academic production is being executed under the institutional leadership of the Head of Department (HOD), Prof. Modupe Olaniyan.
