No ID card, no exams: BUK issues strict directive to fresh students

The management of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has issued a directive to all newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session to immediately complete their final registration documentation and collect their official Student Identity Cards.

According to a special bulletin issued on Thursday, July 23, 2026, by the university, the recently concluded matriculation ceremony formally marked the end of the admission process.

Final registration guidelines

The university management directed all affected fresh students to report directly to the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR) to complete their registration by Friday, July 31, 2026 and collect their student ID cards

“Students are strongly advised to note that no student will be permitted to sit for any University examination without a valid Student Identity (ID) Card,” the bulletin stated.

The announcement, signed on behalf of the Registrar by the Director of Public Affairs, Lamara Garba, urged all fresh students to treat the directive with utmost priority and strictly comply before the deadline.
